🎟️ STEP 1 – GET YOUR TICKETS!
Buy your Melbourne Cup Calcutta tickets at the Club bar:
$2 per ticket or $20 per book
OR try your luck in our Thursday, Friday and Saturday night Calcutta book raffles next week!
Tickets are just $2 each, with chances to win 3, 2 or 1 Calcutta books!
💡 HOT TIP: Get a syndicate together with your mates, buy more books and increase your chances of being drawn!
✍️ STEP 2 – FILL IN YOUR TICKETS!
Write your name (or syndicate name) and phone number on your ticket stubs and pop them into the Calcutta barrel in the Club foyer.
⏰ All tickets must be in by 8pm Saturday 31 October!
🐎 STEP 3 – THE BIG DRAW!
The Calcutta kicks off at 8pm Saturday 31 October at Club Bombala!
24 Calcutta tickets are drawn from the barrel, and each lucky ticket is matched with a horse from the Melbourne Cup field.
These are all written up on the Calcutta board for everyone to see!
Still following? Good… because THIS is where it gets interesting! 😜
🔨 STEP 4 – LET THE AUCTION BEGIN!
Our charismatic auctioneer Tim takes centre stage and auctions off the horses one by one!
Now here’s the clever bit…
💰 If your ticket is drawn with a horse, you have two ways to make some money!
👉 Buy your own horse at auction: You only pay HALF of your final bid!
👉 Let someone else buy your horse: You receive HALF of the final auction bid IN CASH!
That’s right! You could win money without even attending the auction! 🤑
Now we’re talking!!
🏆 STEP 5 – THE FINAL PRIZE POOL!
Once all the horses have been auctioned, the final prize pool is announced and allocated across:
🥇 1st Place
🥈 2nd Place
🥉 3rd Place
🐌 Last Place – $20 (because even coming last deserves something! 😂)
🏇 STEP 6 – THE RACE THAT STOPS A NATION!
Now we wait until Tuesday 3 November at 3pm for the Melbourne Cup!
Once the race is run and correct weight is announced, the owners of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and last-placed horses are our Calcutta winners!
