📰 Woolooware Major Pennant lock in Semi Final Showdown vs Randwick GC @ Roseville GC this Sunday, 15 March.
Going into the Round 6, nothing was guaranteed, officially sitting 3rd on the ladder behind Monash and Royal Sydney. A Win at home was the task – but we had to pray Brighton Lakes would also do their bit.
Wet and windy conditions complicated matters, but our boys got off to a great start, with most matches up or even at half way. It was the back 9 where we dug deep, and with many of our members and family cheering on, we stretched out some big advantages. Mitch and Chris had impressive 4 and 3 wins, whilst Kurt finished undefeated for the year winning 2 up. As Dax and Andy both closed out their games 3 and 2, news flowed in that Brighton Lakes had sealed our ticket with a victory over top of the table Monash!
After Jake and Robbie completed a 7 – 0 clean sweep, the team was met with relief and jubilation. After 3 years in a row of narrowly missing out (last year by half a point) we’d finally booked ourselves a Div 3 Semi. Special thanks to our manager Dovey for putting up with the heart break all those years, and still coming back to do an incredible job as Manager.
